Fisher-Price were one of the first companies to create bright, colourful and simple to use digital cameras for kids. They retail at around the £50 mark, but when it comes to childrens digital cameras you get what you pay for.

Kid Tough Digital Cameras come in blue, pink and red. They are extremely hard wearing and can cope with a good deal of rough play from an over-enthusiastic young child. The cameras are even waterproof, so there is no need to worry about spillages of your toddler dropping their camera in the bath or a puddle. The camera two handles to help even a toddler take a steady picture, and a twin viewfinder to help with the composition.

The specifications of Fisher-Price's latest childrens digital cameras (at the time of this article being published) are 64MB of memory (which equates to up to 500 pictures), image resolution of 1.3 megapixels, colour 1.5 inch LCD screen and an automatic flash. This camera needs 4 AA batteries (not included with product) and 1 lithium battery (included). Some models have a slot for an SD card, to allow for increased storage capacity.

A USB cable is included with the Kids Tough Digital Camera, so your child can download their pictures to a PC to be edited, emailed or printed out. The size of the printed pictures is approximately 6”x4”.

Compared to 'proper' digital cameras, which have a much higher image resolution, the photos are not as sharp. But at 1.3 megapixels, the quality of the photos your child can take with the Fisher-Price kids camera is superior to many cheaper versions.
